Drawings shown are from a demonstration model. Available details depend on your project’s members, assigned reinforcement and drawing preferences.

02 / BEAM BAR BENDING SCHEDULE

Bar bending schedules.
Every piece accounted for.

The drawing shows where the steel goes. The bar bending schedule identifies the pieces it takes. Review both in the same detailing workflow.

Inspect the example schedule

Before issuing drawings, check units, lengths, bending details and quantities against your project requirements. Final review remains with the responsible engineer.

03 / ETABS TO AUTOCAD WORKFLOW

Four steps.
Editable rebar details.

Bring in the model data, review the reinforcement and generate drawings you can continue working on in AutoCAD.

  1. 01

    Import your structural model

Use an ETABS .e2k file, ETABS Bridge on Windows or the Midas Gen import workflow. You can also model directly in StructaCAD.

ETABS / MIDAS GEN / DIRECT MODELING
  2. 02

    Review and complete the reinforcement

Check the geometry and available design data. Adjust longitudinal bars, additional steel, stirrup spacing and concrete cover before drawing.

  3. 03

    Generate rebar details and schedules

Select the details you need. Inspect bar marks, lengths, sections and quantities. Update the model and regenerate after revisions.

  4. 04

Export DXF and open it in AutoCAD

Apply your office drawing standards and complete the review in AutoCAD. Save the DXF as DWG there if your deliverables require it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Rebar detailing,
from input to output.

What to import, what to review and what you can export.

Ask about your project
What is rebar detailing?

Rebar detailing documents the reinforcement in a concrete member: bar positions, diameters, shapes, lengths and quantities. Reinforcement drawings show the arrangement of the steel, while a bar bending schedule lists the individual pieces for review.

How do I generate rebar details from ETABS?

Import an ETABS .e2k file or connect an open model through StructaCAD ETABS Bridge on Windows. Review the geometry and available design data, complete the assigned reinforcement, then generate the details. Model geometry and reinforcement design results are separate inputs; importing geometry alone does not complete the reinforcement.

Can I use Midas Gen instead of ETABS?

Yes. Use the Midas Gen import workflow in StructaCAD. The members and reinforcement information available depend on the exported data. Check the geometry and complete the reinforcement assignments before generating drawings.

Can I adjust bars, stirrups and concrete cover?

Yes. Review and adjust longitudinal bars, additional reinforcement, stirrup spacing and concrete cover before export. After a change, regenerate the drawings and check the resulting lengths, callouts and cross sections.

What does the beam bar bending schedule include?

The schedule includes the member, bar mark, diameter, quantity, bending shape, length per piece, total length and steel weight. It reflects the detailing in your project. Check its units and compare the quantities with the drawings before issuing them.

Does StructaCAD export DXF or native DWG files?

StructaCAD exports editable DXF drawings. Open the DXF in AutoCAD to review layers, dimensions and reinforcement details, apply your office standards and save it as DWG if needed. The export is not a native DWG file. AutoCAD is licensed separately.

Do I need ETABS or Midas Gen to create rebar details?

No. You can model directly in StructaCAD, define the geometry and assign reinforcement to generate the supported details. Drawing automation does not replace structural analysis or review by the responsible engineer.

Can I try the rebar detailing software for free?

Yes. Create a free account, import or model your structure and review the reinforcement. Check the trial downloads available in your account to evaluate the generated drawings in AutoCAD. No credit card is required. Choose a paid plan when you use the trial downloads included with your account.
